More than 70% of the construction works were completed at the purchasing terminal, which is the final stage of the TurkStream project, and is currently under construction in Kıyıköy. The line will be activated by the end of the year.
Construction of natural gas pipeline which will transport Russian gas to Turkey and Europe is closing to the end.
Speaking at a press conference on the TurkStream Natural Gas Pipeline Project in Berlin, Germany, TurkStream spokesperson Aslı Esen stated that the most important phases of the project were finalized and the works were progressing smoothly.
Esen, consisting of two parallel pipelines with a total capacity of 31.5 billion cubic meters annually, recalled that all works in the marine sector were completed and said, “We have also begun tests that check pipeline’s stability and safety.”
Esen said that the completion of the Russian land exit of the pipeline is done, we are at the last phase in the process of commissioning the plant.
Esen emphasized that “The project will be put into operation by the end of 2019 and that more than 70% of the construction works at the purchasing terminal is over, which is the final stage of the project and which is currently under construction in Kıyıköy. We are confident that we will complete the project in accordance with the schedule we have foreseen.”
